Danse Libre’s biennial spring dance concert for 2007 was Thursday May 31 and Friday June 1, 2007. In this year’s show, The Da Vintage Code, intrepid dancers embark on a journey through vintage eras on a quest for the holy grail of dance. Pursuit of the cherished chalice becomes a journey through time and a return to the roots of the art. As the daring dancers wend their way through the mazurkas of the Victorian era, the one-steps of the Ragtime period, the Charlestons of the 1920s, and the tangos of the 1930s, they learn that there is more than just footwork at the heart of dance.
