Danse Libre 10th Year Reunion

Update Dec. 3 2006: The "10 Years of Danse Libre" DVD is now available, featuring the 10-year history slideshow shown at the reunion, plus video of dancing and events at the reunion on May 20th 2006. The DVD has 54 minutes of video, plus the still images as higher-resolution JPEG files. The DVD is $5 if picked up in person from John, or $7 if you'd like it mailed to you. There are some pictures from the May 20th reunion here. Patty put together a scrapbook including member survey submissions and photos. Both username and password for the scrapbook page are the two-letter initials of the group (in lower case).

The Danse Libre Reunion planning committee has been working hard to ensure the day will be memorable and fun, and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible Saturday May 20^th! We have two separate activities planned; here is the BBQ Evite and the Evening Event Evite or if you'd rather, you're always welcome to RSVP to Patty at pt78@aol.com. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Even if aren’t completely sure if you’ll be able to attend, this will help us get a sense of approximate head count in preparation. Spouses, children and significant others are certainly welcome and please include the number of people coming in your RSVP.

1. Evening Slide Show

Time to go through those picture boxes and albums! We would like to collect any and all favorite or special pictures over the years that you might like to see included in the slide show. This would be especially helpful for pictures from the early years! We’ve set up a link through flickr.com in order for everyone to upload pictures at: www.flickr.com Flickr allows only 20 mgs per month so if you have a lot of pictures, email them directly to Julie Tsai at Pomodoro12@yahoo.com. Please upload pictures by May 10th if possible. Instructions for uploading pictures are included at the end of this page.

2. Danse Libre Reunion Scrapbook
What was the most memorable wardrobe malfunction? Or most creative interpretation of choreography (aka Dance Disasters)? Inquiring minds want to know! It's been 10 years and we've got a lot of memories to share. If you've been out of touch, here's a great way to let people know life changes, family updates milestones, current hobbies and interests. Just click on The DL Scrap Book Survey. Please fill it out by May 14th.

3. Potluck Barbecue – May 20^th, 11:30am to 2:30pm, Cuesta Park BBQ Evite

The BBQ will be held at Cuesta Park in Mountain View (see address below) from 11:30 until 2:30pm. We have reserved several family tables in order to have plenty of space to spread out, mingle, and play. Danse Libre will provide paper items (cups, plates, napkins), eating utensils, burgers/hot dogs/veggie burgers and fixings. If you can, please bring a side dish or some drinks to share. Please respond to the upcoming evite with what you will bring, so we can avoid duplication. Feel free to bring Frisbees, blankets, etc. as well. (Current member Rollie has volunteered his house if it rains. If necessary, we'll send out more information on that later.)

4. Evening Program – May 20^th, 7pm to 11:30pm, Roble Main Studio, Stanford Evening Evite

The evening program will include the following:

Lesson/Choreography Reviews with Richard, James, Kristina, and Katrinka

Performances by current Danse Libre danseurs

Social Dancing – Richard will DJ for us

And the priceless chance to meet up with old friends and meet some our new Danse Libre family as well.

Instructions for uploading photos to the Danse Libre Flickr group

The first thing you need to do is create a free Flickr/Yahoo! Account ( www.flickr.com ), if you don't already have one. Once you've done that, you can put photos into the Danse Libre Flickr group in just three steps: (1) joining the group, (2) uploading photo(s) to Flickr, and (3) sending photos to the group. (Note: You are limited to 20 MB of uploads per month with free accounts!)
